November 28
Sunday’s Mixed Stableford competition attracted 22 players, with Dylan Vonderwall winning on a countback from Deb Sykes, both with 36 points. Rundowns went to Annette Schaefer 35 and Helen George on 34.
November 30
Tuesday’s Twilight competition had a field of 22, with Val Sharrad winning with 21 points for the ten holes played, from Ben Abley 20 and Liz Weatherspoon on a countback.
Of interest, Jack Thompson was back in town and played with his family group, shooting three under par for the ten holes.
December 1
Wednesday ‘s Men’s Mid-Week competition was sponsored by Lincoln Fresh Fruit and Veg and had 67 players, with a visitor from Green Acres GC.
Haydn Myers scooped the field with a score-of-the-day of 42 Stableford points, winning A Grade from Grant Bamber on 39. In B Grade, Rick Kolega won with 36 from Chris Cottrell on 32 and Michael Gurr won C Grade with 40 points from ever-green Geoff Will on 38.
Rundowns went to Ben Abley and Warren Rosman 38, Bob Sorenson and Maurie Barry 35 and Peter Leahy and Graeme Dyke, both on 32 points.
NTP Winners were Haydn Myers, Jordon Hind, Norm Marks, Ben Sellen, Lindsay Gordon and Adam Sullivan, with birdies scored by Haydn Myers (twice), Scott Lombe and Norm Marks.
December 2
The Ladies celebrated Christmas with a Stableford competition on Thursday, with sponsors being Caltex and Port Lincoln Dental. There were 27 players and they and past players enjoyed a Luncheon after play. Angel Flight were the recipients of the annual Charity Day.
Michelle Smith won the day with 40 points from Maxine Garnaut 37 and rundowns went to Marg Jenkins 36, Elaine Pierik 35 and Jinny Hussey and Josie Bacchus on 34.
December 3
Last Friday evening had 62 players competing in the weekly Ambrose Teams Event. 54 hit off this week.
December 4
Saturday’s Stableford competition saw over 100 players hit off, in a competition sponsored by Eyre Refrigeration. Of the 84 men, there were three visitors, from Port Augusta, Coffin Bay and Glenelg.
Trent Bradford won A Grade with 39 points from Dylan Bell on 38. Peter Schaefer had the score of the day with 40 points, winning B Grade from Brenton Lees on 37. Visitor Jeff Tiller won CGrade with 39 from Stephen Rees 38.
Rundowns went to Simon Bell 38, Peter Fare, Leon Newman, Warren Rosman, Cliff Taylor and Peter Daniells, all on 37 and Maurie Barrie scored 36 points.
There were good scores also in the women’s event, with Cynthia Thompson on 40, winning from Diana Laube on 39. With 17 players, Val Sharrad scored a rundown ball.
NTP winners were Haydn Myers (twice), Kevin Reidy, Trent Bradford, Warren Rosman, Clint Scharfe and George Mayhew. A staggering number of 14 par-three birdies came from Peter Schaefer, Trent Bradford, Dylan Bell, Warren Rosman, Clint Scharfe (twice), Andrew Tiller, Chris Cottrell, Trevor Durdin, Todd George, Ashley Durdin, Norm Marks, Jason Verhees and Kevin Reidy.
