May 7

Saturday saw the quarter-finals of the Fulwood Cup, where Ben Abley won from Mike Freeman 5/4, Daniel Brown d Peter Kenny 6/4, Jason Verhees d Corey Stephens 3/1 and Luke Gardner finally overcame Haydn Myers on the 20th hole.

Doug Watson’s Mensland sponsored the day and there were 63 men who played, including three from Tea Tree Gully and Coffin Bay.

In the Men’s events, Scott Lombe with 42 Stableford points won from visitor Ryan Lack on 41. In B Grade, visitor Paul Southwall on 41 won from Todd George 40, and Mark Rowett was the C Grade winner with 38 from James Fuss 35.

Rundowns went to Barry Tattersall 40, Chris Baird 39, Simon Bell and Gavin Cheriton returned a score of 37 points and Matt Parker had 36.

Twelve women played, with Cynthia Thompson prowling the greens to win with 37 points from Annette Schaefer on 35.

NTP Winners were Tim Robinson, Trevor Durdin, Simon Bell, Barry Tattersall, Scott Lombe and George Mayhew. Seven par-three birdies were scored by Ryan Lack, Simon Bell (twice), George Mayhew, Norm Marks, David Graetz and Andy Smith.

May 5

A  Par competition, sponsored by Pot Lincoln Meat Service on Thursday, was won by Rhondda Mayfield on +1, on a countback from Helen George. Rundowns went to Val Sharrad -2 and Carolyn Cocks and Liz Trigg, both on -3.

May 4

Wednesday ‘s Men’s competition, sponsored by Tumby Bay Bakery, saw 56 players hit off.

The A Grade winner was Aidan Sheehy with 36 Stableford points on a countback from Andrew Fraser. John Cheriton won B Grade with 37 from George Mayhew on 36, and Mark Rowett took out C Grade with 35, from Gavin Roberts on 31.

Rundowns went to John Strycharski 36,  Matt Parker 35, Graham Tiller and Peter Kenny on 32 and Bob Sorensen, so big scores weren’t the order of the day.

NTP Winners were Gavin Cheriton, Rick Kolega (twice), Dan Townsend, Matt Parker and Adam Sullivan, and Aidan Sheehy, Matt Parker, Haydn Myers and Scott Lombe all had par-three birdies.

May 2

Monday’s Monthly Seniors’ Day was won by Peter Kenny with 34 Stableford points from Bevis Frances 31. There were sixteen players including a visitor from Bermagui Golf Club. The day was sponsored by Eyre Travel.

May 1

Only ten players hit off in Sunday’s Mixed Stableford competition, with Ryan Cottrell winning with 34 points from Ally Russell on 33.
