Despite the scorching Summer heat, golfers are still coming out to the golf course in droves to compete on the fairway.

Eyre Refrigeration & Electrical sponsored the competition on Saturday, where eleven women battled it out in Stableford competition. The winner was determined by a single stroke with Michelle Smith scoring 37 points, just edging past Reeta Devi with 36.

Eighty four men also took part in Stableford competition, where the battle for the best Michael trumped what else was happening on the day. In A grade, Michael Hegarty took the honours with 39 points, one shot clear of Michael Freeman. B Grade saw Michael Kenny walk away on top with 39 points, Darryle Scharfe just missing out on top place with 38 points. The points were matched once again in C grade with Bob Sorensen victorious with 39 points and Brenton George close behind him with 38.

Petstock sponsored Thursday’s Par competition where Helen George blitzed the competition with a score of 5. Lyn Hosking was her closest competitor with a score of 2.

Wednesday’s Stableford competition was sponsored by Hunt Fuel and Spot on Fishing. Ben Abley shot the score of the day with 40 points, two shots ahead of Geoffrey Chambers. Bob Ford was the victor in B Grade with a score of 38, one clear of David Sargent. A countback was required to settle C Grade with Brenton George just edging past Lindsay Gordon.
