With typical Port Lincoln weather providing heavy downpours, thick fog, overcast conditions and bright sunny days throughout the week, golfers still manage to find ways to play to the best of their abilities. Saturday's Stableford Competition, sponsored by Lincoln Fresh Fruit & Veg, saw Robert Proude shoot seven shots better than his handicap with an almighty 43 points in A grade. He was five shots clear of his nearest rival in Gavin Cheriton who scored 38 points. Jack Shanley stood atop B grade with 40 points, two ahead of George Mayhew. C Grade saw Lindsay Gordon take the honours with 34 points. Brenton George was close behind with 32.
The ladies Saturday Stableford competition saw Val Sharrad just edge out the victory with 36 points, Kay Freeth right on her tail with 35 points.
On Thursday the ladies took part in Stroke Competition, sponsored by EP Cleaning Supplies. Cynthia Thompson found herself atop at the end of the day, having finished with a Nett 69. Elaine Pierik was runner up, having shot a Nett 73.
