August 27
A Stroke round was Saturday’s event, incorporating the Men’s Monthly Medal and the first qualifying round of the Doug Watson Trophy. The daily sponsor was Blaslov Fishing and there were seventy players, including a visitor from Marri Park Casuarina.
Monthly Medal Winners were Simon Bell in A Grade with 75 gross, Brenton Lees in B Grade with 86 and Cliff Taylor won C Grade with 94 off the stick.
The handicap winners for the day were Andrew Tiller in A Grade with nett 72 from Huey Rosalia 72. There was a countback in B Grade, with Dave Graetz on 72 counting out Brenton Lees, and Graeme Parker had 73 to win C Grade from Cliff Taylor on 75.
Rundowns went to Haydn Myers 72 and Stuart Pobke, Greg Barry, Luke Gardner, Simon Bell and Warren Rosman all had 73 nett.
Eleven Women also played a Stroke round, with Elaine Pierik on 75 counting out Helen George.
NTP Winners were David Wadey, Boyd McCurry, Tim Pobke, Gavin Cheriton, Ryan Cottrell and Jake Norris and there were three par-three birdies, two from Dylan Bell and one from Elaine Pierik.
August 25
With seven women playing at Whyalla’s Open Day on Thursday, only nine locals played, with Michelle Smith winning with 30 Stableford points.
At Whyalla, Heather Darley won the A Grade handicap section and Kay Freeth won the handicap section in B Grade.
August 24
Wednesday ‘s Men’s Day attracted 51 players, with two visitors from Rockhampton and Marri Park Casuarina Golf Clubs. Blaslov Fishing sponsored the day.
A Grade winner was Huey Rosalia with 41 Stableford points from Codey Marchesi on 36. Robert Humphries won B Grade with 37 from Mark Cooper and Bill Healey was the C Grade winner with 39 from Jack Shanley on 38.
Rundowns went to Chris Cottrell 36. Haydn Myers and Darryl Scharfe both had 34 points.
NTP Winners were Jack Shanley, Dan Townsend, Mick Hegarty, Barry Tattersall, Dave Sargent and Matt Parker. There were six par-three birdies, coming from Huey Rosalia, Scott Lombe, Dan Townsend, Mick Hegarty (twice) and Dave Sargent.
