Saturday's competition was for the monthly medal, all three grades duking it out in Stroke competition with a total of 81 players taking to the field. Simon Bell walked away victorious in the A grade, shooting 72 off the stick. Geoff Nottle took the honours in B grade, having scored a very handy 82 off the stick, including a rare par four Eagle. Chad MacGregor was the best off the stick in C grade having shot 88.
On the women’s competition, Saturday boasted a field of 13 players trying to best one another. Adie Fraser took the victory honours, shooting a Nett of 74, three shots clear of her nearest rival in Helen George.
Friday saw 14 teams take part in an Ambrose Competition. Off the stick, the team of James Fuss, Stephen Rees, Jack Humphries and Tyson Dodd took out the day with a score of 63, one solidarity shot ahead of the team of Robert Proude, Jason Verhees, Cindy Carr and Haydn Myers. Josh Hausler, Rick Kolega, Darryl Scharfe and Ben Kotz had the handicap honours, with a Nett score of 56.5, just scraping past the team of Dan Brown, Zac Brown, Ryan Lack and Adrian Ryan. David Norman, Robert Fox, Rowena Fox and Deb Sykes were winners in the mixed competition with a Nett score of 66.
Thursday’s competition saw 22 Women descend onto the golf course in a Par competition. Ally Russell took the victory having a score of Plus Two, one ahead of Kaye Jaensch.
61 Men took part in Wednesday’s Stableford competition with Taylor Ford coming away victorious in A grade with 39 points. Daryl Evans came runner up with a handy score of 37. Brain Henson walked away on top with 39 points in the B grade. Mark Cooper came runner up with 37, just unable to bridge the gap. Peter Watherston stormed to victory in the C grade, 44 points easily the next score of the day. On any other day the 40 points scored by Zephyr Thomson would have been more than enough but sadly he had to settle for second place.
